It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

By the time she was removed Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
